Hyemi Kang is an architect with a passion for innovative ideas and quality design.
Hyemi Kang is an architect and academic with over 20 years of experience in the industry. Her professional background includes work with Tesla, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, and Gensler, where she contributed to significant projects such as the Waldorf Astoria New York, Moynihan Train Hall, and JPMorganChase’s global headquarters. At Tesla, she leads the development and deployment of EV charging infrastructure, advancing innovative and sustainable solutions across complex, large-scale projects.
Her work has received international recognition, including an exhibition at the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale. She has taught at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of California, Davis, where she currently helps students develop their design thinking, technical skills, and understanding of architectural principles.
Hyemi holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from the University of California, Davis. She further expanded her architectural education at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London through an advanced graduate research studio.
